REVIEWS & TESTIMONIALS

Kate has an impressive level of expertise across many areas of school life. She is a highly regarded PYP Workshop leader in the IB community, offering professional development to International Schools around the world in more than 13 types of workshops – Assessment, Inquiry Learning, Sustainability, Teaching and Learning and many more.

Her efforts and willingness to share this knowledge and best practice with our own staff has been immeasurable. As an administrator, I have been appreciative of the many ways she has contributed to our teaching and learning environment and the professional development of staff.

In the past, Kate has been quick to volunteer herself in leadership roles, taking on Early Years Team Leader, First Steps Writing Coordinator, Head of Curriculum Alignment, and Staff House Leader. She has served on many committees with the following titles: Accreditation; Earth Day; Pastoral Care; Well-being; Language Policy; Hiring; Staff Union; Professional Development. She has also been a Personal Project supervisor in the MYP and CAS in the DP.

Kate has a real desire to support her administrative team and is willing to offer her opinion to promote change and innovation. Should any school be looking for someone to progress to a management role, Kate demonstrates a strong ability in this area.

During her time at Prem, Kate has forged a very strong relationship with staff on both a personal and professional level. Of particular note is Kate’s contribution to staff moral. She brings an enthusiasm to the staffroom that lifts the room and she represents the very important social side of our school. To show her genuine concern for the well-being of others, she gave herself tirelessly to organizing morning teas, baby showers, bridal showers, leaving celebrations, funerals, flowers and notes of sympathy during her time here.

As a classroom teacher, she has developed a broad range of skills and strategies for teaching and learning. I have enjoyed sharing ‘best practice’ with her, watching her ‘Daily 5’ Literacy rotations evolve into a ‘Daily 3’ program as she constantly reflects on the needs and best approaches with her students. Her differentiation strategies in both her literacy and numeracy programs are excellent for ESOL, Learning Support and gifted and talented students. She is determined to see growth in her students and she does this by making her teaching relevant, engaging and connected to the real world. She maintains excellent communication with her parents and has a very caring way with her students.

It is with great sadness we see this expert teacher leaving our environment. I would not hesitate in reemploying Kate as either a homeroom teacher or in a management role in the future.

Yours sincerely,
